About the RSPCA Young Photographer Awards

Whether you're an experienced photographer or a keen beginner, you've entered before or you're not sure where to start, you're in the right place!

The aim of our RSPCA Young Photographer Awards is to encourage an interest in photography and an appreciation and understanding of all the amazing animals around us. It's open to anyone aged 18 or under and all we want is for you to enjoy the process and get creative. Every year we're blown away by the incredible images you send in!

We can't wait to see your entries

The RSPCA Young Photographer Awards 2022 is now in its 32nd year and I'm proud to say I've been involved with the competition since it began back in 1990. I'm one of the team of judges and I never tire of looking at the images you send in. The thousands of entries we receive each year are always fresh, exciting and a true celebration of the animal kingdom.

Lots of our past winners have gone on to careers in photography, animal welfare or conservation. This really is a high-profile competition and we get lots of attention from national media too, with winning images often making the front page of the newspapers!

So have you got what it takes? Of course you have! All you need is a camera, smartphone or tablet and a passion for animals and nature. There are 7 different categories to enter so there's something for everyone. You can enter multiple categories and enter more than one photo in each category if you like.

All the finalists will be invited to our fabulous awards ceremony at the Tower of London in December. There are some great prizes on offer for category winners and we'll announce the overall RSPCA Young Photographer of the Year 2022. So what are you waiting for? Show us your photos!
